What is a sub ambassador?

An ambassador positively amplifies what it’s like to work with Kelly Education. These rock stars are our substitute teacher champions and brand ambassadors.  

They believe in our mission and are comfortable talking about their passion for their job. Their stories can help others understand what substitute teaching is like and the steps they can take to become a substitute teacher. 

Key responsibilities.

While you continue to actively work as a substitute teacher within your school district. You’ll be paid for a few other responsibilities, which fall out of scope of a school day: 

  • Provide recruiter assistance by hanging fliers. 
  • Post lawn signs. 
  • Attend hiring events or sports games  
  • Answer questions about experiences as a substitute teacher. 
  • Help at talent engagement and appreciation events by setting up booths and tables 
  • Hand out thank-you notes and gifts. 

Flexibility and willingness to take on different responsibilities are key to success in this extra special substitute teacher job. For example, Kelly Education might also ask you to assist with administrative tasks, like printing badges, uploading documents, sharing on social media, or answering emails. How to become a substitute ambassador.

To be added to the ambassador program at your district, you need to be an active working substitute at the district already. We do not hire people exclusively for the ambassador pool. In this program, we are elevating our existing top-tier talent.  

  • Districts may refer folks or recommend retirees – our Client Services team could ask their contacts for referrals. 
  • Substitute teachers who get A+ reviews from district staff  
  • Review Sub Hub – people who work regularly in a district know the district best. The Talent Services team could invite them into the program!   

How the program works.

Once you agree to take on the additional role of sub ambassador, it’s time to begin the onboarding process. To familiarize yourself with your new roles and responsibilities, you’ll complete a paid 30-minute training course.  

After that, you’ll receive a welcome kit packed with essential items. You’ll also gain access to the scheduling system, allowing you to view open positions throughout your district. From there, you can choose events that fit perfectly with your schedule.

Your sub ambassador welcome kit includes vital items to carry out your role. From plenty of pens to frequently asked questions from candidates, your welcome kit provides all the tools to excel as an ambassador. Some things you may find in this essential kit: 

  • An ambassador event checklist 
  • A Kelly Education tote bag 
  • Sign-up sheets 
  • Various fliers (recruiting, benefits & perks, job description QR code) 
  • Regional business cards

  • Assemble orientation packs for all Polk County schools.  
  • Take photos, print, and mail ID badges for the Kelly Education substitute educators.

  • Scan in drug screen results and fingerprint waiver forms. 
  • Help new employees with time sheets.
