Civil Design Engineer
 
Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Civil Design Engineer for a direct hire position a large industrial client in Sparks, NV. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.  

Overview 
 
This client recycles and rebuilds rechargeable batteries. Due to growth in this industry, they are building new industrial facilities in Nevada and other parts of the country. As a member of their infrastructure team, you will support site development by working with Professional Engineers to design, plan, and optimize site layouts, utilities and other site & plant infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Design site layouts, grading, paving/pavement design, striping, and underground utility distribution (sewers, electrical, telecom, etc.) drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D under the supervision of Licensed Civil Engineers.

  • Conduct field surveys & reconnaissance to measure and document existing conditions for brownfield and greenfield developments.

  • Participate in project planning meetings and cross-functional design reviews.

  • Apply creative problem-solving skills to propose solutions beyond standard approaches.

  • Collaborate with supervisors to address complex design challenges, selecting appropriate methods and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology degree or expert competency with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in civil site development for industrial or brownfield industrial sites, or hospital type commercial development is a hard requirement.

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including: Plan and Profile development, pipe networks, pressure networks, grading functions, and surface development

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Pluses

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to site development.

  • Practical field experience in active construction settings.

  • Proficiency in basic surveying techniques, including the ability to set control points and collect accurate data using total stations, GPS, or other surveying equipment is a strong plus.
