Product Development Engineer
- We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team.
- This position is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, client-focused engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage projects from cradle to grave with minimal supervision.
- You will play a critical role supporting shop floor teams, collaborating with internal departments, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to spec.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned projects from concept through completion with minimal direction.
- Participate in design and spec reviews, offering innovative ideas and on-the-fly problem-solving.
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks. Manage project timelines and coordinate between engineering, manufacturing, and order writing teams.
- Provide strong floor support understanding and empathizing with shop floor challenges. Foster strong internal and client relationships by being highly collaborative and communicative.
- Occasionally visit client sites approximately once per quarter .
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional team efforts. Top Skills and Must-Haves: SolidWorks proficiency CAD design and detailed drawings .
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead projects independently.
- Excellent communication skills able to work shoulder-to-shoulder with teams and clients.
- Cradle-to-grave project experience from design to final delivery . Hands-on mechanical aptitude sheet metal fabrication, welding, or automotive experience is highly preferred.
- Exposure to electrical schematics and/or hydraulic schematics is a major plus.
- Previous experience in body design, upfitting, automotive, truck manufacturing, or similar industries preferred. Customer-focused, relationship-driven mindset. PMP Certification is a plus company is open to covering costs for certification after hire .
Ideal Background:
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience. Background in manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced company culture.
