Regulatory Affairs Specialist III – Food & Bev
Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist III for a temp-to-hire position at a leading company in the food, flavor, and beverage industry. Pay: $31 – $35/hr
Shift: Standard PST working hours
Duration: Temp-to-Hire (~6 month conversion time)
Overview:
Our client is a company in the food, flavor, and beverage sector, dedicated to upholding high standards in regulatory affairs. The role involves leading regulatory processes, managing compliance documents, and supporting the team in achieving performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a backup to Regulatory Affairs Specialist 1 and 2 in collecting and managing regulatory and technical documents from suppliers and maintaining a substantiation database.
- Review regulatory and technical documents from suppliers for compliance with company requirements as part of the supplier approval process.
- Gather supporting information to generate routine documents for finished products including allergen, GMO, bioengineered, ingredient statements, country of origin, vegan, natural, etc.
- Generate drafts of non-standard documents in response to requests for information about finished products, including but not limited to, irradiation, ethylene oxide, international compliance, etc.
- Review regulations and supplier documents to determine international compliance for raw materials and maintain this information in the compliance database.
- Generate draft documents to support ingredient registration for import to various foreign countries.
- Complete documents and questionnaires to assist customer product certification.
- Generate draft documents and responses to customs agents’ requests for information related to products.
- Generate initial product label profiles.
- Submit products for Halal, Kosher, and Organic certification.
- Participate in SDS production and provide guidance to the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or other scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant regulatory experience.
- Experience with Halal, Kosher, and Organic certification processes.
- Experience with international regulations preferred.
- Adept at using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Excellent attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing work to meet multiple deadlines.
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
