Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist – Medical Billing

  • Job Type: Full-time, contract to hire

  • Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour

  • Expected Hours: 40 per week

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts / 1st shift

  • Work Environment: Initially remote, with plans to transition to an office in Orting, Puyallup, Sumner, or Graham later this year.

We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller / AR Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in managing and processing medical billing, submitting claims to insurance companies, verifying insurance coverage, and handling claim discrepancies. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and well-versed in medical billing regulations, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:

  • Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies

  • Verify accuracy of patient information and medical codes

  • Manage denial resolutions, corrected claims, medical record submissions, and appeals

  • Analyze medical bills for accuracy and completeness

  • Maintain records of payments received and denied claims

  • Provide customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries

  • Stay updated on insurance policies and regulatory changes

Required Experience:

  • Medical Billing: 5 years

  • Appeals & Corrected Claims: 4 years

  • Insurance Follow-Up: 4 years

  • Medicare & Medicaid Billing: 4 years

  • Authorization Processing: 1 year

  • Telemedicine Billing: 1 year

Preferred Experience:

  • Cardiology Billing: 2 years

  • Behavioral Health Billing: 2 years

  • Payment Posting & Charge Entry: 4 years
