Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Senior Scientist, R&D Operations for a one-year contract opportunity with a leading molecular diagnostics company at their headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. Position Title: Senior Scientist, R&D Operations
Position Type: One-year contract
Pay rate: $50-55/ hour.

Overview and Responsibilities
- Lead and execute studies: Drive new product development (NPD) and post-launch studies such as limit of detection, product stability, inclusivity/exclusivity, FMECA, robustness/reliability/DFM, and precision studies.
- Collaborate: Work with interdisciplinary experts to innovate on our platforms and technology.
- Communicate findings: Provide actionable data to guide product development.
- Grow: Develop your expertise with coaching from a skilled team and our client’s Scientific community.
- Adapt: Respond to market changes and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of industry experience or academic equivalent.
- PhD (or MS/BS with equivalent experience) in a Biological Science field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemistry, or related field).
- Skilled in interpreting large-scale experimental data and clinical trial results.
- Experience with real-time PCR or RT-PCR and product development.
- Ability to handle clinical specimens and microorganisms in a BSL-2 environment.
Preferred
- Experience in launching FDA-cleared molecular diagnostic tests.
- Development of data analysis tools integrated with a compliant database.
- Proficiency in bioinformatic tools for DOE and clinical study design.
- Software Knowledge: Python, R, Minitab, JMP, MATLAB
