Analytical Chemist – Detroit MI
Kelly Science and Clinical is currently recruiting for one qualified, full-time, direct hire Analytical Chemist I for one of our clients in the Detroit, Michigan area.
Responsibilities:
- Determines the physical and chemical properties of compounds using quantitative and qualitative analyses in physical, organic, or inorganic chemistry.
- Performs a variety of chemical tests and is knowledgeable with instrumental techniques.
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under supervision.
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications/Education/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferable emphasis in the life sciences) with 0-3 years of
- experience in an analytical laboratory. Open to recent graduates! MS or higher degreed candidates not desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong ability to multi-task.
- Competency in operating and maintaining the following Instrumentation/techniques: GPC, PSA, FTIR, ICP, GC-FID, DSC, TGA, SEM-EDS, Rheology
- Ability to develop strong troubleshooting and RCA skills
Pay: $45-55K/yr
Hours: Dayshift hours, 7AM – 330PM, M-F – may have flex later in the role but entire group works this shift currently
