Manufacturing Engineering Technician (Contract to Direct)
Location: De Pere, WI
Pay: $30-$40 per hour DOE
Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer Technician plans and supports manufacturing systems involving material flow, automation, fixturing, work content balancing, design for manufacturability, and supports future growth through capacity enhancements.
Role and responsibilities:
• Determines processes, fixtures, and tools needed to produce quality parts to customer specifications
• Analyzes layout of equipment and workflow
• Set up manufacturing routings and material flow methods
• Review design renderings/prints and provide design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback
• Work with internal personnel to resolve production issues, both cost and quality related
• Support Lean initiatives for process improvement on the shop floor
• Generate flat prints from models for machine specific requirements
• Strives to understand a high level of all functional areas of manufacturing processes and actively brings forth ideas for process improvement according to company objectives.
• Interact with teams of design engineers, operations, and project managers to secure deadlines
• Identify current state work center capacity bottlenecks within manufacturing and develop plans to realize future state demand
• Assist in processing engineering change notices to the manufacturing floor
• All other duties as assigned
Education:
• Associate degree or Certification in industrial or manufacturing engineering or related field experience.
Experience:
• Minimum two years of manufacturing engineering experience with knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, sheet metal fabricating, welding, powder paint finishing, and/or assembly experience.
• Familiar with fabrication nesting processes, methods, and programming
• Understanding of material flow methods (push/pull systems)
• Lean or Six Sigma training, experience or certification a plus
• Experience setting up manufacturing routes
• Design For Manufacturability (DFM) exposure
