Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Scientist II for a 1 year contract position at an industry-leading medical device company focused on diagnostic solutions. Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $50-$53/hr
Overview
This client is an industry-leading medical device company focused on being the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions. In this role, you’ll be working with cross-functional teams to validate software/system updates made to the client’s platform through real-time PCR experiments. This role will give you an opportunity to learn and improve upon existing R&D workflows while helping advance diagnostic solutions.
Schedule:
M-F, standard working hours
Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively solve complex problems that have broad impact on business by applying problem-solving skills and strategies to support the validation of the updated client’s platform
- Effectively manage experiments with shifting priorities to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure seamless execution of deliverables to validate updates to the client’s platform
- Learn and improve upon existing R&D workflows
- Maintain detailed experimental records, and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks and technical reports to meet the QSR Design Control, as well as other international standards such as ISO compliance and GLP/GMP requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, or a related field with 2+ years of related work experience
- Experience with implementing verification and validation SOPs, data analysis, and technical report writing
- Handling clinical samples and assist in microbiology work on BSL-1 and BSL-2 organisms, if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IVD assay development
- Experience handling human clinical specimens and performing aseptic microbiology work
- Proficiency with molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR
