Kelly Services is seeking seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join an Electronic Assembly Manufacturing company located in W. Melbourne, FL 32904.
SMT Operator
In this role, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of equipment used in the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly process. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the production of high-quality electronics.
Salary: $17+/hr (Depending on experience)
Position Type: Full-time
Shifts Available:
1st shift- 7am-3:30pm- Mon-Fri
2nd shift 3:30pm – 11:30pm ( Train on 1st) Mon-Fri
3rd shift- 10:30pm-7:30am (train on 1st) Sun-Thur
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain SMT (Surface Mount Technology) equipment, including screen printers, glue machines, reflow ovens, SMT placement machines, stencil cleaners, and conveyors.
- Interface with complex machine hardware and software for efficient operation.
- Identify and report defective components to maintain high-quality standards.
- Inspect your own work to ensure accuracy and integrity of work performed.
- Ensure products meet established workmanship standards.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate data logs.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and surrounding workspace.
- Ensure accuracy of work-in-process inventory.
- Participate in quality teams as required to ensure continuous improvement.
- May train other employees in SMT operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience operating SMT equipment (preferred).
- Certifications: IPC-A-610 Certification, ESD Training.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of component identification and nomenclature.
- Understanding of component handling and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) requirements.
- Basic computer skills, problem-solving abilities, and workstation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work with written procedures, verbal instructions, and visual aids.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and IPC-610 standards.
- Knowledge of component identification and nomenclature.
