Location: Carol Stream, IL
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Range: $21.00 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience, education, and skill level)
Responsibilities:
- Perform body work including replacing fenders, bumpers, headlights, and other minor auto body parts.
- Conduct preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with supervision from Senior Mechanic.
- Repair and inspect heavy-duty vehicles such as engines (gas and diesel), brake systems, electrical systems, steering, and cooling systems.
- Work on trailer repairs including axle replacement, hinge repairs, and wiring harness work.
- Perform oil changes, tire repairs, and wheel alignments using in-house equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electronics with OEM and Snap-on scanners (willing to learn scanner use if necessary).
- Utilize hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.) and power tools for repairs.
- Lift and raise vehicles using hydraulic jacks or hoists for major component repairs.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work on each vehicle.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1+ years of mechanic experience or equivalent educational background.
- High School Diploma required. Associate degree or ASE Certification a plus.
- At least 1+ years of experience with auto body repairs.
- Experience working with gas/diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulics.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Valid driver’s license required. CDL is a plus.
- Ability to perform engine work, hydraulic repairs, and engine replacements.
