Now hiring an Accounting Specialist for our premier international biopharmaceutical client in San Mateo, CA!

Pay: $30-$34.50/hr
Hours: 30 hrs/week, M-F
Location: San Mateo, CA 94402
Position Type: Long-Term Temporary

Job Summary: The Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data by handling various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. This role involves handling day-to-day transactions, assisting with financial reporting, and ensuring timely execution of accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable

    • Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.

    • Verify accuracy of invoices.

    • Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies


  • Accounts Receivable

    • Prepare and issue customer invoices.

    • Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely collections.

    • Follow up on overdue payments and address billing inquiries.


  • General Ledger Management

    • Record journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.

    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

    • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.


  • Compliance & Process Improvement

    • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP/IFRS).

  • Knowledge of tax regulations.
