CNC Machine Operator

Our client is seeking a CNC MACHINISTS to join their team, our client is a full-service packaging equipment company in Lake County. 

Location: Cleveland 
Pay: Depending on experience $22.50 – $26/hr.
Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture parts from various materials, including steel, stainless steel, plastic, and fiberglass.

  • Leverage knowledge of materials, CNC programming, and machining techniques to meet precise production requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, selecting the appropriate tooling for each job.

  • Determine optimal machine speeds and feed rates based on project specifications.

  • Efficiently set up machines, ensuring all components are correctly squared before starting the job.

  • Utilize inspection tools like micrometers and calipers to measure the accuracy of finished parts.

  • Apply basic shop math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and converting metric sizes.

  • Understand and interpret CNC programs, including G-codes and M-codes, ensuring accuracy by comparing set-up sheets with program instructions.

  • Observe machine operations during test runs to ensure the program instructions are followed correctly.

  • Complete necessary quality documentation accurately and maintain detailed records.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following good housekeeping practices at all times.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional trade school training is a plus.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist or machine operator.

  • Strong mathematical skills, particularly in shop math and measurement conversions.

  • Proven ability to meet production targets and maintain high-quality standards.

Personal Skills:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality work.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with technical proficiency.

  • A focus on safety in all aspects of the job.

  • Positive attitude with the ability to contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
