CNC Machine Operator
Our client is seeking a CNC MACHINISTS to join their team, our client is a full-service packaging equipment company in Lake County.
Location: Cleveland
Pay: Depending on experience $22.50 – $26/hr.
Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC milling machines to manufacture parts from various materials, including steel, stainless steel, plastic, and fiberglass.
- Leverage knowledge of materials, CNC programming, and machining techniques to meet precise production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches, selecting the appropriate tooling for each job.
- Determine optimal machine speeds and feed rates based on project specifications.
- Efficiently set up machines, ensuring all components are correctly squared before starting the job.
- Utilize inspection tools like micrometers and calipers to measure the accuracy of finished parts.
- Apply basic shop math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and converting metric sizes.
- Understand and interpret CNC programs, including G-codes and M-codes, ensuring accuracy by comparing set-up sheets with program instructions.
- Observe machine operations during test runs to ensure the program instructions are followed correctly.
- Complete necessary quality documentation accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following good housekeeping practices at all times.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional trade school training is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist or machine operator.
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in shop math and measurement conversions.
- Proven ability to meet production targets and maintain high-quality standards.
Personal Skills:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with technical proficiency.
- A focus on safety in all aspects of the job.
- Positive attitude with the ability to contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
