Kelly Services is Seeking a paint Department Supervisor for a premier client in Paris, KY.
Pay Rate: $25 – $27 per hour
Hours: 3:30pm – 1am (Mon – Fri) May have OT
Job Summary:
The Production / Paint Supervisor is responsible for supervising and directing personnel engaged in specialized fabrication, roll-form, welding, and paint activities. The role involves training employees on the most efficient and effective machine operations and overseeing the daily operations of the facility to ensure that products are produced efficiently, on time, and to quality standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Selects, trains, motivates, and disciplines employees through meetings, consultations, written communication, and daily discussions.
- Responsible for ensuring that quality procedures are followed and conducting ongoing quality checks.
- Ensures that all employees are trained on the safest way to do their jobs and that all departmental safety rules are followed.
- Produces work at the direction of Production Control and ensures machines are set up and production runs in accordance with the production schedules.
- Accurate production reporting & Labor Reports.
- Efficiencies are maintained to meet or exceed standards.
- Monitors production to ensure a minimum amount of scrap is produced.
- Assigns and directs employees to specific machines for optimum production results.
- Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the department: Housekeeping.
- Monitors and ensures preventive maintenance of machinery and tooling is completed.
- Ensures all employees use required safety equipment (eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, etc.).
- Ensures that employees comply with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for building security.
- Conducts timely employee performance appraisals and establishes employee development and training and improvement plans.
- Assures the accuracy of reports generated for production control.
- Maintains good employer/employee relationships.
- Maintains control & orders department supplies through purchasing as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining employee time-card hour corrections and PTO.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with quality control methods and tools.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to make informed decisions.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
- Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as required by the production schedule.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Must have manual dexterity in both hands.
- Must be capable of bending and lifting 60 pounds.
- Must be capable of visually reading prints, work orders, production schedules, tape measures, and gauges.
- Must be capable of communicating with production workers and other management personnel.
