Project Engineer

Are you a skilled Project Engineer passionate about leading cross-functional teams and driving projects from quotation to production launch? Join our team in the dynamic field of medical device and component manufacturing to support our ambitious sales strategy.

Position Summary:

As a Project Engineer, you will spearhead projects, ensuring seamless transitions from quoting stages to production launches. Your role is crucial in supporting our aggressive sales strategy by ensuring high standards in medical device and component manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will encompass various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Part Design Review: Assess part designs, including drafts, side-actions, and shutoffs.

  • Tooling Expertise: Review mold designs, understanding mold features due to part geometry and construction basics.

  • Medical Molding: Apply your experience in medical molding, especially in High-Consistency Rubber, Gum Silicone, and Liquid Silicone.

  • Injection Molding: Leverage experience in thermoplastic and/or thermoset injection molding (a plus).

  • Manufacturing Processes: Implement advanced quality planning (APQP) and good manufacturing practices. Familiarity with DOEs, capability studies, “Steel Safe/Tolerance Safe” concepts, automation (press robots, assembly equipment), and secondary operations (deflashing, assembly, testing, decorating).

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring sound project organization, timeline management (MS Project Gantt charts), and supplier coordination.

  • Safety Compliance: Utilize appropriate PPE (safety glasses and side shields).

  • Additional Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Engineering degree in Mechanical or Plastics.

  • Experience: Over 5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to represent us well to customers and suppliers.

  • Technical Skills: Fundamental computer skills, proficiency in business software (e.g., Excel, Word), and familiarity with ERP systems (IQMS preferred).
