Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Molecular and Cellular Biologist for a full-time exempt position at a leading research company in South San Francisco. Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $100,000-$130,000 annually
Overview: This client is an industry-leading biopharmaceutical company focused on cutting-edge research and development.
In this role, you’ll be working with a dynamic team of scientists to evaluate new formulations and investigate GPCR cellular signaling through advanced assay development. This role will give you an opportunity to work with technologies such as CRISPR, Calcium, and cAMP assays while advancing our understanding of cellular signaling and contributing to CNS drug development.
Schedule: M-F, standard working hours- onsite
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Independently design and execute experiments to study cellular signaling of GPCRs and formulation interactions.
- Develop and maintain sterile mono-culture cell models for CNS drug development.
- Perform cell-based assays, including Calcium and cAMP assays, to assess molecular and cellular responses.
- Conduct molecular biology techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, cloning, transfections, CRISPR, immunostaining, FACS).
- Optimize cell culture conditions for reproducibility and scalability.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental outcomes and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including formulation scientists and analytical teams.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant research experience in a molecular and cellular biology laboratory in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.
- Strong understanding of the Scientific Method and experimental design principles.
- Proficiency in sterile mammalian cell culture techniques and standard molecular biology methods.
- Hands-on experience with CRISPR, Calcium, and cAMP assays.
