Plant Maintenance Supervisor (Toole, Utah)
Our client in Tooele, UT is building a new wire mesh line for their Tooele, UT facility, and will be staffing this plant from the ground up. Operations anticipated to start in May. For this new line, a Maintenance Supervisor will be needed.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Employee plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the maintenance operations in the manufacture of Wire Mesh for the mining and construction industries. Employee oversees maintenance of buildings, machinery, equipment, and facilities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED Required.
BS in Mechanical Engineering a plus.
Minimum Five (5) Years’ Experience with Set Up, Repair, and Calibration of Wire Mesh welding line Systems meeting ASTM-F432 Standards Preferred.
Minimum Two (2) Years’ Supervisory Experience Required.
Working Knowledge of PLC-Based Systems and Robotics, A Plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to plan and effectively direct the activities of the maintenance department adhering to standard operating, safety, and quality assurance procedures
Basic knowledge of steel products and finishes as applied to maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Possess basic math skills with knowledge of fractions and decimal computations including ability to use/read micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
Proficient mechanical knowledge with good fabricating and trouble-shooting skills including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of operational functions for various production machinery and basic computer skills.
Proficient knowledge of operational functions for general maintenance equipment including cranes, forklifts, welding and cutting equipment, conveyance, and hand/power tools.
Possess a “Team Member” mentality with complementing ability to self-motivate, organize, lead, and work well with others.
Ability to solve practical problems and control a variety of changing situations in an unbiased manner.
Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include all shifts.
Possess repetitive standing, walking, and/or bending capability during normal phase duties.
Possess close visual acuity, near/far vision, verbal interaction, and multiple limb coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct, oversee, and evaluate the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems following standard operating, safety, and quality procedures that include setup actions for product runs; calibrating and repairing pneumatic systems; inspection of belts, fluid levels, filters, bearings, seals, etc.; and providing corrective actions as required.
Develop and implement schedules and procedures for preventive maintenance programs.
Oversee inside/outside repair actions for buildings and grounds following standard operating, safety, and quality procedures.
Oversee inside/outside, minor/major emergency repairs as required for buildings, grounds, machines, and equipment following standard operating, safety, and quality procedures.
Conduct and complete employee performance reviews; recommend personnel actions such as hirings, promotions, or unbiased discipline; and prepare maintenance and/or other shift reports as required.
Oversee computerized control and monitoring of mechanical equipment.
Coordinate and/or oversee cleanup actions adhering to housekeeping requirements after maintenance or repair actions are completed.

This plant specializes in the design and manufacture of ground control products, including bolts, beams, channels, trusses, resin, and rebar, which are essential for enhancing safety and efficiency in mining, tunneling, civil, and construction industries. Additionally, this location houses operations for manufacturing lines specializing in chemical roof support, rock stabilization, and ventilation sealing products. The new wire mesh line expanding product offerings for Mining & Tunneling by expanding in-house capabilities to improve safety concrete reinforcements by preventing falling debris in mines and tunnels, all allowing for better quality control, customization, and integration with existing product lines (e.g., bolts and anchors).
