Job Title: Legal Assistant
Job Summary:
Join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Assistant, where your organizational skills and attention to detail will be essential in supporting our attorneys and enhancing client relationships. In this non-exempt role, you’ll play a crucial part in managing legal documents, conducting research, and ensuring smooth communication between clients and the firm. Job Specifications:
– Job Type: Full-Time
– Location: Appleton, WI
– Pay Rate: $25/hour
– Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00PM
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Interact with clients to build and maintain strong relationships via phone, email, and in-person communications.
– Schedule and organize client calls and meetings, ensuring attorneys’ calendars are efficiently managed.
– Serve as the primary contact for courts and administrative agencies regarding hearings and motions.
– Prepare and send client bills as needed.
– Draft and execute engagement agreements by following attorney instructions.
– Maintain and update attorneys’ calendars and send reminders.
– Retrieve and manage assigned attorneys’ voicemails and mail.
– Prepare legal correspondence and finalize documents for delivery.
– Organize attorneys’ files to ensure all relevant materials are ready for meetings.
– Enter time and billing data, and assist in managing new client and firm files.
– Perform document copying and scanning as required.
– Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
– High School Diploma required; advanced training at a college or university is preferred.
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm is required.
– Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with strong spelling, grammar, editing, and proofreading abilities.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a specific ability to navigate and manipulate Excel; entry-level Photoshop experience is a plus.
– Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment while creatively solving problems.
