Senior Electrical Engineer – Grenville, SC (Hybrid)
Flexible Salary: Targeting $100K to $150K based on years of experience
Overview
Senior Electrical Engineers conduct research, develop designs, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. They create electrical equipment and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes using their advanced knowledge acquired through education and work experience. Responsibilities may include managing projects independently, coaching, and reviewing the work of junior professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Management
- Schedule product development and engineering efforts.
Product Development & Team Leadership
- Lead project/product development and multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Identify and recommend hardware needs and requirements.
Design & Documentation
- Plan and prepare new product designs, prototypes, or redesigns.
- Source parts and write technical documentation.
Circuit Schematics & Hardware Design
- Prepare block diagrams and detailed circuit schematics.
- Layout proposed or existing hardware designs.
Software Specification
- Recommend software specifications for hardware/software interface of new products.
Cross-Divisional Projects
- Participate in the preparation of cross-divisional project proposals.
Testing & Evaluation
- Develop, oversee, and document testing and evaluation of designs and products.
Product Failure Analysis
- Evaluate and investigate product failures.
- Recommend repairs or design modifications based on specifications, cost, and risks.
Manufacturing Support
- Support manufacturing in production.
- Troubleshoot any related design issues.
Technical Support
- Provide technical support, including documentation to customers.
Education, Licenses, and/or Certification Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Specialization in Electronic Design
Experience and Travel Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of combined work experience in the design and development of electronic products, including circuit board design.
Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize with minimal supervision.
- Thorough understanding of analog and digital electronic systems in various applications.
- Proficiency in using laboratory test equipment (e.g., multi-meters, scopes, logical analyzers).
- Experience with full-cycle product development.
- Proficiency in engineering analysis methods and interpreting results.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience building prototypes/demos from drawings, specifications, and/or other information.
