Job Specifications:
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Newport News
Pay Rate: up to $25
Shift: 8am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Roles and Responsibilities:
– Match, approve, enter, and pay vendor invoices for materials and supplies.
– Process payments via check, credit card, and ACH.
– Communicate with vendors regarding invoice or payment issues.
– Maintain a Business Debt Schedule for long-term liabilities.
– Organize and maintain accounting paper and digital files, including annual document storage.
– Resolve issues with customers, vendors, and supervisors in a timely manner.
– Communicate frequently with customers’ A/P contacts to maintain positive relationships.
– Manage collections as needed through phone and email.
– Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts monthly or as required.
– Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including all associated taxes and garnishments.
– Track and pay employee garnishments and liens.
– Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns and maintain notes for month-end and year-end financial statements.

Qualifications & Skills:
– 3-5 years of experience with QuickBooks, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
– Proficient in managing vendor relationships and resolving payment issues.
– Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
– Experience in payroll processing and tax return preparation is a plus.
