Position Summary:
The Designer will apply sound mechanical engineering and design principles to create approval and fabrication drawings. Involved in the entire design process, including conceptual model creation to production-level design and detailing.
Job Details:
- Direct Hire Career Opportunity with a growing, premier, local manufacturing company
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, typically can have half day on Friday
- Around $25 per hour, depending on experience
What’s a typical day as a Designer/Drafter? You’ll:
- Customize products to meet customer specifications
- Propose product changes for added value
- Collaborate with engineering for custom designs
- Ensure manufacturability of designs
- Communicate with purchasing and other departments
- Generate shipping documents
- Address design or production enhancements
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- Proficient in CAD-based drafting software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of design and drafting principles
- Strong collaboration skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Understanding of metal fabrication processes
- Fluent in ERP system navigation
