Entry-Level CNC Machinist – Training Included

1st Shift: 6AM-2:30PM
Pay Rate: $28-$30 Hourly

Job Summary:
Kelly Services, in partnership with Johnson & Johnson, is seeking an entry-level CNC Machinist with 1-2 years of experience, including exposure to Mastercam, to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their CNC machining skills with training included, and grow into a long-term role within the company. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a key role in fabricating prototype components while ensuring quality and precision in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and perform basic programming on CNC machinery such as HAAS VF3 with TR200 trunnion, HAAS Mini Mill, HAAS VF2, Mitsubishi EDM, and Citizen Swiss machines.

  • Fabricate prototype components from metals, plastics, and other materials based on blueprints, models, and sketches.

  • Review blueprints or drawings for machining capabilities and ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Operate manual lathe, mills, drill presses, grinders, and CNC machining centers to produce precise parts.

  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to produce tooling, fixtures, and parts.

  • Maintain machinery cleanliness and efficiency to ensure optimal operation.

  • Communicate issues or opportunities for improvement to management.

  • Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards while complying with company procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of CNC machining experience or equivalent training.

  • Exposure to Mastercam or similar CNC programming software.

  • Proficiency in operating conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and CNC machinery.

  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD files, and work orders.

  • Solid math skills, including proficiency in fractions, decimals, and geometry.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a machining environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with HAAS VF3, HAAS Mini Mill, HAAS VF2, Mitsubishi EDM, or Citizen Swiss machines.

  • Exposure to 3D printing (preferred but not required).

Work Environment:
This position is based in a machine shop environment, with a strong emphasis on safety. Some overtime may be required to meet production needs.
