Contract Duration: 12 months Contract
Pay Rate: $36.04 per hour
Schedule: 04:50 AM to 03:30 PM (EST)
Location: Savannah, GA
Qualification:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience.
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred.
- Other FCC License preferred.
- Other NCATT preferred.
Position Purpose: Provides leadership, technical expertise, and guidance while performing various operational, functional tests, and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment, and systems to ensure a defect-free aircraft. The role includes superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact. Demonstrates leadership by implementing process changes to reduce costs and meet schedules without compromising safety or quality.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrates superior technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems operational testing and troubleshooting.
- Teaches the installation and functionality testing of electrical/avionics components and systems.
- Ensures quality and efficiency of installations and provides timely, quality repairs.
- Demonstrates skills in repairing or replacing defective components and wiring.
- Oversees compliance with engineering changes and modifications.
- Sets up and operates necessary test equipment and conducts functional tests.
- Maintains daily logs and ensures all work is properly documented.
- Pre-inspects work of others to reduce rework and inspection time.
- Provides knowledge and technical expertise in maintaining test equipment and systems.
- Enforces company safety regulations and programs.
- Adapts to sudden schedule changes.
- Coordinates with other disciplines on projects.
Additional Functions:
- Teaches the installation and functionality testing of electrical/avionics components and systems.
- Self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions.
- May include flight tests on aircraft for certification and final phase testing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Preferred proficiency in troubleshooting other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
- APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
