Position Title: Injection Molding Operator – Blow Injection Tech
Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $25/hour
Reports to: Director of Operations
Date: Monday-Friday 3rd shift

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Tech to join the team. The primary responsibility is to process machines, maintain, repair, and improve injection and extrusion blow mold machines and support equipment to ensure dependable operation. This role includes working with systems such as compressed air, chilled water, vacuum pumps, loaders, blenders, grinders, conveyors, and robots.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete set-up check sheet after machine release to production.
- Identify the job accurately and record the setup into the press.
- Review the plant for any safety issues and report to the Safety Director.
- Ensure materials are correctly mixed according to BOM specifications.
- Conduct hourly quality production checks throughout the shift.
- Verify standard cycle times and the number of operators on machines at least six times per shift.
- Assure the new job runs optimally while producing quality parts before QC checks and first piece approval.
- Create tool write-ups if repairs or preventive maintenance are needed in IQMS.
- Act as the focal point for daily work-related questions from operators, material handlers, and inspectors.
- Follow instructions from direct reports, plan work, and manage time appropriately.
- Fill out the shift log books daily.
- Monitor shift assistant supervisors to ensure they follow procedures and instructions.
- Check WIP sheet and OEE report to ensure continuous improvement daily.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of verifiable work experience in the field of manufacturing mechanical and electrical maintenance, required.
- Education: High school diploma required. An associate degree in mechanical technology, general mechanics, electrical technology, plastics, molding technology, or equivalent from an approved technical school, college, or university is preferred.
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, ability to handle work independently and as part of a team, solid understanding of safety protocols, and efficient work planning and time management.
- Physical Requirements: The role requires standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. Regularly represents 67 to 100% or 6 to 8 hours of an 8-hour workday.
