Job Title: Materials Analyst

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented contractor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects while working alongside experienced professionals. We welcome your unique insights and contributions working in a nationally accredited third-party testing laboratory providing high value testing to a global customer base. This position performs accurate and precise measurement and analysis of products in appliance, aerospace, construction, transportation, automotive, and HVAC markets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PRODUCT TESTING (75%)
- Executes material and product testing safely.
- Lives the Owens Corning safety culture every day, working safely while identifying and driving safety in lab processes.
- Prepares materials and products pre-test and re-packaging post-test.
- Provides feedback on improving testing efficiency.
- Follow standardized processes for executing tests.
- Clearly articulate the results and analysis informally/formally to testing lead.
- Work closely with lab staff to meet customer expectations for quality, communication, and lab outcomes.
- Utilize LIMS to store data and track lab usage identifying customer use rate for each division of the business.
- Analyzes data and reports results (according to capabilities).
PRODUCTIVITY (25%)
- Support process improvement in the laboratory.
- Develops process improvements utilizing hardware, software, and documentation tools.
- Develop process tools to improve quality.
- Reduce or eliminate human decision points and interaction with the test items as practical.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree.
- Must be proficient in using a computer including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to repetitively lift objects up to 40 lbs. and stand for a large portion of the day.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Engineering or Science field.
- 2-3 years’ experience in industry is preferred.
- Prior laboratory experience in ASTM/ISO/IEC/ANSI Thermal, Acoustic, or Fire testing helpful.
- Experience with constructing, assembling, or producing equipment for a specific purpose.
- Experience with CAD, 3D Printing, and/or programming preferred.
