Materials Chemist
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group has an opening for a Materials Chemist for a long-term engagement at one of our Global medical device clients in Jacksonville, Florida. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation (PTO), paid holidays, 401K, and annual performance reviews.
Schedule: On-site Monday through Friday day shift
Pay: Depending on experience
- Responsibilities:
- Analyze lenses using techniques such as refractive index, mechanical properties, contact angle, FTIR surface/bulk analyses, absorbance/transmission, optical density, gravimetric water content, surface roughness AFM, pervaporation DVS, oxygen permeability, and visual inspection using microscopy.
- Support method validations by executing tests according to protocol requirements.
- Conduct routine solution testing, including pH, conductivity, and osmolality via USP validated test methods.
- Perform verification and calibration as required.
- Maintain and test competitor inventory.
- Support data entry and compilation of competitive testing information to build a master database.
- Aid in maintaining the calibration status of components and assist with system change requests to update calibration due dates.
- Support the qualification of new instrumentation.
- Perform guided-development of methods under the direction of senior personnel after mastering standard testing.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in analytical techniques and method development.
- Strong understanding of USP validated test methods.
- Proficiency in data entry and database management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
