Kelly Services is seeking a Production Supervisor for a reputable Electronics manufacturer located in W Melbourne, FL 32819
Pay– $32-$38 DOE
Job Type: Full-Time temp to hire
Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our scientific production operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the production schedule, organizing work schedules, and ensuring that product build and ship plans are met while adhering to ISO9001 standards. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication skills, and a hands-on approach to managing production processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the production schedule based on MRP.
- Organize work schedules for assembly, testing, tech support, and pack-out operations.
- Monitor the progress of products through final assembly and testing to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with ISO9001 elements.
- Collaborate with engineering to provide necessary procedures and training for employees.
- Provide backup and support in high-volume areas or for hot products in the department.
- Offer technical support to the production process, including equipment and programming adjustments as required.
- Analyze production capacity versus demand and allocate resources accordingly.
- Work closely with operations management to maintain accurate direct labor staffing levels.
- Conduct regular employee meetings to communicate updates and gather feedback.
- Assist in providing product and process training to the operations team.
- Utilize the shop floor system effectively.
- Attend production and quality meetings as required.
- Participate in new customer introduction teams to ensure successful process start-ups.
- Drive cross-functional resolution of issues impacting manufacturing.
- Prepare work-in-process status reports and generate labor efficiency data.
- Review and modify departmental procedures as needed.
- Ensure the accuracy of work-in-process and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Train and mentor other employees to foster a strong team atmosphere.
- Perform other responsibilities as directed and necessary for the business.
Requirements:
- 4-year degree (preferably in Engineering or electronics-focused discipline)
- Prior electronics manufacturing experience (minimum 2 yrs.)
- Prior supervisory experience (minimum 2 yrs.) in a production environment or on a shop floor
- Ability to interpret print, schematics & diagrams
- Experience in resource planning (capacity vs demand)
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and IPC Standards
- Knowledge of 5S (prefer Six Sigma green belt certification)
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate or higher level knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor & lead a team (work center)
- Willing to work flexible hours as necessary (including weekends)
