Office Manager with Accounting/HR Expertise

$100k-$130K Annual + Bonus.

The Office Manager with Accounting Expertise is a dual-role position supporting the executive team in human resource management, office administration, and accounting functions. This role oversees HR operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and performs financial analysis to optimize company profitability. Any additional responsibilities assigned by the company in accordance with Company’s Corporation’s policies, strategies, and goals, observing all US Federal and State Government laws, rules and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: OFFICE MANAGER WITH ACCOUNTING EXPERTISE:

Candidates usually have at least 8 years of experience, including previous management responsibilities. They also should have comprehensive accounting, financial reporting and GAAP expertise. Those with public accounting experience have an advantage. Business expects a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting but generally prefer applicants who also have earned an MBA or certification such as the CPA, CGMA or CMA.

HR and Office Management: Oversee day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. Coordinate with third-party consultants for HR and administrative tasks.

Accounting and Tax Analysis:

  • Effectively optimize operation of the accounting department.

  • Examine current procedures and offer suggestions for improvement. Improve excel spreadsheets with advanced formulas and visualization of analytics.

  • Prepare tax filings ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including familiarity with Wayfair tax laws.

  • Assist in creating and analyzing financial reports, focusing on tax implications and optimization strategies.

  • Support annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and performance reviews.

  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP

  • Coordinate with third-party CPA for quarterly / annual close.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Work across departments to maintain robust financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.

  • Provide leadership in both HR and accounting functions, addressing strategic and operational needs.

  • Other tasks may be assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business; certifications like CPA or SHRM preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience in HR and accounting roles, with expertise in tax analysis.

  • Proficiency in financial systems, ERP software, and HRIS platforms; advanced experience with Excel and Infor Cloudsuite Distribution (CSD) an Analytics is a plus.

  • Must possess initiative and drive; have broad relevant financial knowledge with strong management and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a focus on compliance and efficiency.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration
