Salary: $65,000-$85,000
Position Overview: The QA Specialist II will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of products by managing and improving quality assurance programs. This role requires a hands-on approach to process optimization, team collaboration, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. The QA Specialist II will report to the Quality Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest standards of quality and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Oversight:
-
Monitor and enforce compliance with regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.) and company policies.

Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to HACCP, SQF, and other certification programs.

Lead investigations and root cause analyses for non-conformances and customer complaints.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain and update quality assurance documentation, including SOPs, training materials, and inspection reports.

Compile data for trend analysis and prepare reports for management review.

Ensure traceability of materials and products through accurate record-keeping.

Process Optimization:

Identify areas for improvement in production and quality systems, proposing and implementing corrective actions.

Collaborate with production teams to streamline processes and reduce waste.

Assist in the validation and verification of new processes and products.

Training and Leadership:

Conduct training sessions for staff on quality standards, allergen management, and food safety protocols.

Serve as a mentor to junior QA staff, providing guidance and technical expertise.

Support the Quality Manager in driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Customer and Vendor Management:
-
Assist in preparing for and hosting customer and third-party audits.

Monitor vendor performance and compliance with quality requirements.

Manage and resolve quality-related issues with suppliers and customers effectively.

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field; Master’s preferred.

3+ years of experience in quality assurance in food and beverage manufacturing.

Certifications in PCQI, HACCP, and SQF preferred.

Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
-
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and food safety standards.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Work Environment: This position may require standing for extended periods, working in a production environment, and occasional travel to vendor or customer sites. Flexibility to work non-standard hours may be necessary during audits or special projects.
