Kelly is seeking a Senior Accountant to work with our client, an award-winning company in the fields of engineering and agriculture. The Senior Accountant will:
- Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls
- Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Prepare month-end close process
- Handle Year-End Audits
- Produce monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
- Record all fixed assets additional and disposals
- Book monthly depreciation expense
- Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
- Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables
- Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements on a regular basis
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly
- Conduct detailed financial analyses to identify trends and inform business decisions
- Collaborate with the finance team on the monthly and year- end close processes
- Work with external auditors as needed, ensuring smooth audit processes and adherence to standard accounting practices
- Lead budget preparation and forecasting, providing insightful financial advice to management
- Develop and enforce strong internal controls for financial processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA licensure preferred but not required
- Competency in accounting software and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or Great Plains would be a plus
- Effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
- A high level of attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently/self-directed and as a member of a team
- Strong work ethic and integrity
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
- Dedication to providing great customer service
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and work with diverse customers
