Shifts and pay:
Daytime hours (40 hours)
$25/hr.

Job Summary:
Production & Materials Planner will order the materials for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products and will lead the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the plant and the company meets customer demands.

Job duties:

  • Responsible for creating the production schedule while considering finished goods inventory, WIP, forecasted demand, customer orders, inner-company demand, replenishment orders, plant capacity, cycling plans, manufacturing efficiencies and various other dependencies.

  • Responsible for ordering materials for production or FG to seal to customers based on MRP and considering the lead time from suppliers.

  • Review safety and Maximum stock to have enough material to avoid airfreight and meeting financial inventory targets.

  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Identifies conditions that could impact the production and/or proactively develops and communicates contingency plans and priorities.

  • Confers with Operation Managers and Supervisors to resolve production issues, which affect the machines schedules.

  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.

  • Works with multiple departments to coordinate proper inventory mix, new business launches, trials, lost business phase outs, phase out/phase in transitions, promotional requirements, and prioritizations to support company goals and objectives while servicing customer requirements.

  • Participates in Process Improvement projects when necessary and update VSM twice a year to meet customer demand with support from other pillars

  • Ability to work in a team environment, to teach and coach others in the awareness of planning techniques, software, and best practices.

Experience and Education needed:

  • A college degree in business or a relevant field with lean certification is preferred. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.

  • Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.

  • Preferred experience would include Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, ASQ Quality Engineering certification, Lean Manufacturing, etc.

  • Experience with plastic extrusion and/or injection molding is preferred.

  • The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people.

  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
