Material Planner
 
Job Description:
In this role, the Materials Planner will be responsible for maintaining inventory levels and availability to meet production schedules. They will assume responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services. Relies on input from and establishes balance with vendors, internal, and external customers based on supply and demand for materials and finished goods. Issues periodic reports on material availability and status. Resolves problems with inventory or material shortages and recommends procedures to avoid future problems.
 
Key Responsibilities
-Set up inventory goals and monitor, with input from appropriate stakeholders
-Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure continuous supply of product, meeting quality and delivery standards
-Develop action plans and counter measures with planner / buyers, development and factory teams for inventory control
-Proactively track and manage material shortages, determining and executing countermeasures
-Establish and maintain standard work in materials management processes
-Track, analyze, manage, document, and report on open purchase orders, past-due lines, past-due invoices status. Update site leadership and manufacturing teams on supplier delivery expedites status and performance, as needed.
 
Internal Relationships:
-Reports to the Program Lead
-Interacts with various factory associates (Logistics, Buyer/Planner, Manufacturing, and Engineers)
-Interacts regularly with procurement teams
 
External Relationships:
-Interacts occasionally with suppliers
 
Location:
-This position will be located in Newark, CA or Sunnyvale, CA
 
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
-1-3 years experience in a related field is preferred
-Demonstration of competency with material planning methods and strategies
-Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
-Experience with Material Planning and Inventory Control
 
Language Skills:
-English fluency required.  Ability to effectively present information, influence, persuade, and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, peers, and suppliers
