Packaging Engineer
Pay – $40-50/hour
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Packaging Engineer for one of our top clients in Skillman, NJ.
 

  • Bachelor s degree in Packaging, Engineering or a related Science field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in new package development/technology transfer in CPG, food, or pharmaceutical companies.

  • Experience in Package design, manufacturing, and project management experience strongly preferred.

  • Provides direction in a range of projects covering new package development, materials selection, manufacturing process/site changes, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Knowledge of supplier qualification processes.

  • Knowledge of plastic bottles, flexible packaging, closure systems, corrugate components, cartons and labeling for consumer products.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to influence multi-functional teams in a fast-paced environment while meeting timelines.

  • The ability to prioritize multiple constantly evolving priorities with minimal direction is required.

  • Knowledge of ISTA packaging and other packaging and shipping standards.

  • GMP experience strongly preferred.

Job Functions:

  • This role will require creating and approving specifications, documentation, package line trials and package testing to support product release

  • Apply packaging engineering principles to execute the proper design, qualification and implementation of Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Packaging components and the associated systems such as documentation, equipment and processes.

  • Maintain a database of packaging guidelines and specifications along with item drawings for all approved packaging.

  • Support line trials and packaging validation activities prior to the introduction of any new or change in components/processes

  • Technical Leadership skills are required
