Job Posting: Material Handler

Role Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, packaging and unpackaging materials, assisting in stocking and pulling parts from storage, and performing all other functions associated with shipping and receiving. This role requires exemplary service to both internal and external customers. The Material Handler may also operate a forklift to transport goods and materials within the facility.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Unload incoming shipments and verify the bill of lading and packing list.

  • Unpack incoming shipments and assist in loading/unloading trucks, as well as packaging and unpackaging materials.

  • Help stock and pull parts from storage and perform all functions within shipping and receiving.

  • Collaborate with purchasing and other departments to resolve packing list discrepancies.

  • Conduct inspections and identify damaged goods as needed.

  • Accurately record materials received on the appropriate purchase orders and distribute copies to relevant personnel.

  • Ensure materials are received in the ERP system within 24 hours.

  • Verify the accuracy of outbound shipments and package them properly to ensure undamaged delivery.

  • Handle document filing and archiving requirements.

  • Follow all warehouse processes while maintaining good housekeeping in assigned work areas.

  • Adhere to all safety requirements.

  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Availability for occasional overtime, including weekends and evenings.

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk extensively, kneel, twist, and bend.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift more than 100 pounds.

  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a production environment with multiple product changeovers.

  • Willingness to learn and cross-train in different functions as needed.

  • Familiarity with the terminology used in logistics.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Previous experience in material handling and forklift operation.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
