Job details

Location: San Francisco Bay Area
Schedule: M-F, 9AM – 5:30PM
Pay: $26 – 29/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the calibration, maintenance, and replacement schedules for lab equipment.

  • Engage in hands-on tasks, such as performing preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment and occasionally cleaning equipment.

  • Resolve any equipment errors in collaboration with the Lab and Safety Manager.

  • Place orders for lab supplies and handle stockroom inventory management.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of lab supplies used in R&D.

  • Implement and oversee lab safety programs, including biohazard and hazardous waste management.

  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with vendors.

  • Manage package deliveries and ensure timely distribution.

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records including updating chemical and reagent & consumable inventories. 

  • Support lab staff with outgoing package shipments, as required.

  • Help keep lab spaces clean and organized.

  • Inspect safety showers and fire extinguishers during monthly inspections.

  • Undertake other related duties and projects as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of work experience in a laboratory setting.

  • Hands-on experience with routine preventative maintenance and occasional equipment cleaning.

  • Knowledge of chemical, reagent, and consumable inventories.

  • Ability to manage inventory, place orders for lab supplies, and handle stockroom organization.

  • Previous experience in managing biohazard and hazardous waste.
