Revenue Accounting Analyst needed in NYC! Hybrid Temp Opportunity
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Type: Hybrid Temp position
Pay Rate: $28.25 per hour
Term: Immediately – 06/30/2025 (with possible extensions)
Location: W. 41st Street New York, NY On a bus/subway route; parking not provided
Position Summary:
The Revenue Accounting Analyst will be responsible for analyzing Bursar and Continuing Education accounts, recording monthly and year-end closing entries, and reconciling cash transactions from Central Office Tuition and Fee cash accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Journal Entries and Cash Transactions:
- Prepare daily journal entries for Tuition and Fee cash account transactions using accounting software.
- Bank Reconciliations:
- Review and analyze college bank reconciliations on a quarterly basis for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide feedback and resolve discrepancies with college teams.
- Account Analysis:
- Analyze the trial balances for Bursar and Continuing Education Departments, identifying irregularities in the general ledger accounts.
- Ensure revenue records are accurate and reconcile with operational data, resolving any discrepancies.
- Revenue Variance Analysis:
- Identify reasons for month-to-month revenue variances and out-of-period adjustments.
- Communicate with colleges to resolve issues and discrepancies.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Compile materials for audits and external compliance activities.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and provide necessary support for auditor requests.
- Accounts Receivable and Reporting:
- Manage the collection of revenue and accounts receivable related to Tuition and Fee accounts.
- Track and maintain financial data for fiscal reporting to management.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
- Other Duties:
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Peoplesoft ERP.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Experience in revenue accounting and financial reporting.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external auditors.
