Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in North Milwaukee. The Manufacturing Engineer will improve production processes through root cause analysis, documentation, process design, planning, quality control, operations management, and problem-solving. This role is part of a new project development launch for a highly regarded healthcare customer, aimed at making a significant impact on our team, our customers, and their patients.
Responsibilities:
- Create work instructions (written or visual) for processes performed by Operators and Mechanics.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) projects through data collection and problem-solving.
- Review production information to understand methods, processes, and activities on the production floor, including production schedules, preventive maintenance schedules, product process flows, and engineering specifications.
- Design and update production work cells to resolve production issues and eliminate waste.
- Assist with the creation and review of systems to ensure products meet quality control and quality assurance standards.
- Develop production standards for new products by working with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
- Identify and provide solutions to scrap and downtime issues.
- Understand and develop working knowledge of the ERP system (e.g., IQMS).
- Independently or at the direction of the engineering manager, develop solutions to solve scrap and downtime problems as assigned.
- Develop into a CI leader on the production floor.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program or a four-year university program in a related field of study is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of injection molding and assembly processes is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, including their design and uses, is preferred.
- Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is preferred.
- Skills in cell layout and product flow optimization are preferred.
- Broad knowledge of production processes.
- Ability to thrive simultaneously in production and NPI areas.
