Now hiring a Facilities Stationary Engineer for our premier client in El Dorado Hills, CA!

Pay: $23/hr
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA 95762
Position Type: Temp to hire

Job Summary: You will learn and qualify to operate the Production Facility’s Low Voltage (480V) and Medium Voltage (21,000V) systems and equipment. You will train to respond to after-hours on-call troubleshooting and operations of Electrical Infrastructure equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead associates or perform Electrical tasks associated with inspection routes, monitoring equipment, reading meters, and recording data in operational logs, and reporting any abnormal conditions.

  • Perform/Lead Electrical operations (start/stop, open/close, adjust, regulate) on large equipment used to generate and distribute electrical power.

  • Lead Associates or Perform assigned maintenance and operational tasks on all plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner, to include overhaul and repair, and routine servicing.

  • Ensure plant equipment operates safely, economically, and within established limits.

  • Promote and Adhere to all company procedures and policies including, but not limited to, Lock-Out-Tag-Out, NFPA 70E, Start-up and Shut-down procedures, Plant and Facility Security procedures & policies.

  • Maintain cleanliness of all Electrical spaces, and equipment by oversight of others and direct participation.

  • Respond to abnormalities, determine the cause, and take corrective action.

  • Develop and maintain Operations and Maintenance procedures for all Electrical Distribution equipment.

  • Maintain manufacture, insurance carrier, and department recommended or required operations and maintenance documents.

  • Identify risks to the facilities and equipment, notify supervisors, and assist in the development of plans for mitigation.

  • Identify specific or specialized training needs that support the efficiency or effectiveness of Electrical Infrastructure operations, and present to supervisors.

  • Identify improvements that could increase efficiency and/or cost savings and present them to supervisors.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable equipment operating permits, and maintenance of associated logs.

  • Compose and submit work orders as needed.

  • Develop and maintain historical logs for all Electrical generation & infrastructure equipment.

  • Identify and maintain adequate spare parts and consumables inventories.

  • Maintain all corporate administrative requirements, including designated on-line training in a timely and professional manner.

  • Provide Support for Facilities Maintenance and Repair.

  • Provide On-call support for 2nd, 3rd, 4th shifts.

  • Provide As-Needed Support for Cogen Operations & Maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Optimal: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 2-years of experience as a Stationary Engineer

  • Associate’s Degree, or certificate from a technical/trade school with major course work in Engineering, Electrical Distribution Equipment maintenance and operations, or Electrical Drafting, and 4-years of experience as a Stationary Engineer or similar position,

  • Or 4-years military or merchant marine service with training and experience operations and maintenance of Electrical Distribution Equipment,

  • Or 4-years of experience working for an Electric Utility Power company operating and/or maintaining Electrical Distribution Equipment,

  • Or a combination of qualifying education and training equaling 5-years or more,

Skills/Competencies:

  • Self-starter with ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.

  • Ability to take direction and work under pressure due to time constraints.

  • Ability to prioritize.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Punctual and dependable,

  • Works well in a Team environment

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package & Outlook,

  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools,

  • Knowledge of the use of, man lifts, industrial lift truck operations,

  • Knowledge of the use of, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),

  • Knowledge of the use of, test and calibration equipment (IR, volt meters, multi meters, equipment meters & gages),

  • Qualify for, and maintain a First Aid Card, (at Broadridge’s expense)

  • Knowledge of Ladder Logic, control systems, and PLCs is a plus.

  • Willing to go the extra mile to get a job done correctly and on time.

Requirements

  • Willing to work evenings, weekends and overtime as needed in support operations and maintenance tasks.

  • Willing to travel for up to two weeks at a time.

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50-pounds over short distances.

  • Able to climb and work from ladders.

  • Able to work from heights using appropriate PPE.

  • Able to distinguish colors and color codes.

  • Able to hear and distinguish Alarm signals in an industrial environment.

  • Able to work in temperatures of up to 130 degrees F occasionally, for short periods of time.
