Quality Assurance Technical Manager
General Overview of Duties
Kelly Science and Clinical has partnered with a food & flavor production company in San Fernando, CA to bring you this exciting position! Reporting to the Quality Director, this position is responsible for managing Quality Assurance (QA) inquiries, concerns, and projects through to completion. The QA Technical Manager will work closely with direct reports, colleagues, and internal and external clients. This individual acts as a key resource for QA-related information and provides technical expertise on QA and QC processes. A commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment through professional behavior and effective communication is essential.
Details:
- Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually based on experience
- Shift: Mon-Fri day shift
- Duration: Temp-to-Hire (about 6 month temp period)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for QA information, offering guidance to both internal teams and external partners.
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA procedures.
- Deliver timely and effective QA recommendations and solutions.
- Lead investigations into product quality or food safety concerns.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, determine root causes of defects, and target areas for enhancement.
- Design and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, GFSI benchmarks, and customer-specific requirements.
- Provide QA support for external inspections and audits.
- Perform internal QA audits and ensure the maintenance of approved specifications.
- Supervise, mentor, and support assigned QA staff.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on QA topics.
- Facilitate discussions and provide training sessions as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences preferred.
- At least three years of management experience.
- 3-5 years of QA experience in food manufacturing.
- HACCP and PCQI certifications.
- Expertise in QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret and act on complex data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to travel or report to company facilities on short notice.
