Job details
Kelly is seeking Machine Operators in Fowlerville, MI. The person is responsible for operating machining and testing equipment, visually inspecting, testing, and washing machined valve bodies. The role involves handling and moving materials within the facility, reading micrometers and blueprints, using gauges, and maintaining appropriate records. The position may also involve interfacing with customers or suppliers and initiating corrective actions when quality issues are identified.
2nd shift 2pm – 10:30pm M-F and OT weekends
$17.00 Temp to hire opportunity
$1000 Retention bonus, Attendance bonus, etc
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
- Operate CNC and/or Final Finish equipment, and other testing equipment as needed.
- Load/unload aluminum castings onto/from fixtures or other devices.
- Perform chip checks.
- Package (or un-package) parts in bins.
- Conduct appropriate material identification and tagging.
- Perform continuous visual inspections and identify potential quality concerns in valve bodies.
- Complete check sheets and reports as necessary.
- Clean cells and other areas in the department.
- Use hand gauges and/or other testing devices to perform quality checks.
Education/Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Manufacturing experience, but not required.
Other Skills/Abilities:
Required:
- Manual dexterity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others and maintain professionalism.
- Ability to willingly follow instructions and direction.
- Ability to perform calculations with whole numbers quickly and accurately, without a calculator.
- Ability to read, understand, and perceive relevant technical and non-technical material.
- Ability to sort objects into sets or categories based on color, size, shape, quality, etc.
