Kelly Services is hiring for a Grant Accountant opportunity with our client in Seattle, WA! This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and supportive team with great benefits in a non-profit environment.

Job Description

  • Financial over sight for all assigned government and nongovernmental grant contracts. Oversite requires gaining a complete knowledge of all grant contracts, with the major emphasis on the contracts financial requirements.

  • Will work closely with all program managers to assist them in their contract compliance and invoice preparation. Prepare journal entries for the programs. Assure audit readiness of the programs

  • Review monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts.

  • Review and approve general ledger entries for AR. Ensure all cash receipts are posted in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that accurate monthly revenue accruals for the quarterly/monthly billed contracts are completed in a timely fashion each month.

  • Ensure all general ledger accounts have been adjusted and reconciled on a monthly basis. Meet all financial closing deadlines as required by the Regional Finance Director, Accounting Manager and contract or grants.

  • Reconcile and adjust general ledger accounts

  • Assist the Regional Finance Director and Accounting Manager in customizing and maintaining the various financial reports in Infor, Access, and Excel to meet the needs of internal users. Be available as a trainer to other staff needing assistance in preparation of reports.

  • Assist in the preparation of agency internal financial reports in conformance with system wide reporting standards. Prepare other informational reports for internal and external purposes as assigned by the Regional Finance Director.

  • The position is the accounting department lead in audit preparation of schedules and reconciliations of general ledger accounts for all programs assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 3-4+ years of experience in an accountant role

  • Non-profit experience preferred

  • Grant accounting experience preferred
