Livonia, MI
Direct Hire
Must be able to travel for 8-12 weeks for training Monday-Friday in Fairview, MI 
Mileage, Hotel, and meals paid for by company while in Fairview, MI
Start date 1/13/2024
$17.50/hr
1st shift: Start as early as 6am end as late as 4:30pm

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with Shift Leader to gain experience on all the fabricating processes we use to produce service parts

  • Operates machinery in a safe, productive, and quality manner ensuring parts are built to the manufacturing plans

  • Maintains accurate records of all time and expenses incurred in the fabrication of each service order

  • Performs required inspections of conformity according to our work instructions and BTO processes, and immediately notifies Shift Leader of any concerns or discrepancies

  • Processes orders and sets up jobs with minimal supervision

  • Operates in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Code of Conduct

  • Ensures 6S, housekeeping, and health and safety standards are maintained

  • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description

  • Understands the importance of quality and assists in the achievement and maintenance of TS 16949 certification

  • Understands the importance of the environment and assists in the achievement and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification

Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Two Year College Degree or applicable Technical Training and Certification is preferred

  • Two to four years of relevant work experience

  • Fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge

  • Working knowledge of fabrication equipment preferred

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Fork-lift Certification preferred

  • Ability to lift thirty pounds on a regular basis

  • Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

  • Manufacturing atmosphere with long periods of standing

  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor

  • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
