Shift: Monday-Friday, first shift
Pay: $26/hr

Position Description:
The Chemist is responsible for assisting and carrying out chemical analysis and designed experimental activities related to the company’s products; conduct Quality Control testing of raw materials and finished products and assure the laboratory is maintained as a safe working environment. This position reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Activities:

  • Quality Control testing of raw materials and finished products including maintenance of QC databases.

  • Production of lab scale product batches, stability testing and other evaluations.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory

  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies

  • Conduct all activities in a safe and ethical manner.

  • Other activities as may be assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.

  • Support & Coordination:

  • Assist other Company representatives as needed.

  • Establish strong, trusting, and mutually respectful relationships with other staff members, and selected vendors, visiting customers and potential customers.

  • Troubleshoot and rework products with manufacturing issues to match specifications. 

  • Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and timely reports of activities and procedures of the laboratory.

    • Other Reports as may be required.

  • Compliance:

  • Personnel safety while in the lab and production facility

  • NON-SMOKER

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, or other closely related science.

  • Some experience with chemical analysis techniques

  • Additional Experience

    • One or more years of laboratory experience a plus

    • One or more years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience a plus

    • Experience in performing HPLC and FTIR analyses a plus

    • Experience in basic statistics and designing experiments a plus

Skill Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills related to chemistry and material testing

  • Excellent computer software skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail is required

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Technical writing skills a plus

  • Able to work as a one-person team for extended periods of time

  • Capable of managing stress while supplying services, achieving goals, and meeting deadlines
