We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in North Milwaukee. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing industrial automation control systems and developing and implementing machine software applications and programming architectures. You will be part of a collaborative team that works on challenging and diverse projects involving innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify complete industrial control systems, including network communications, schematics, and panel layouts using Electrical CAD software.

  • Perform electrical calculations and prepare equipment or component device specifications.

  • Plan, program, test, and troubleshoot industrial PLC/PAC machine controls and HMI interfaces using standard company methods and conventions.

  • Program ancillary devices, including but not limited to servo systems, robotics, vision and inspection systems, and motion controllers.

  • Understand and apply industrial sensing technologies and process control methods.

  • Design and integrate machine safety systems and perform risk analysis.

  • Communicate effectively with mechanical designers, machine builders, and electricians throughout the design process.

  • Support customer start-ups, site acceptance testing, and provide on-site service support as necessary.

  • Provide technical support and customer service.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program in Electronic/Electrical field of study, or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in the field.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance.

  • Strong understanding of industrial wiring schematics and diagrams.

  • Knowledge of industrial automation systems and power and controls circuitry including emergency stop and typical motor starting circuits.

  • Understanding of safety categories and applicable industry standards.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in using Electrical CAD software for design purposes.

  • Strong programming skills, including experience with PLC/PAC machine controls and HMI interfaces.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems efficiently.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of machine safety systems and risk analysis.

  • Customer-oriented mindset with excellent technical support skills.
