Kelly Science has a great opportunity to join a growing organization within the personal care manufacturing industry for a R&D Supervisor. 

Location: Miami FL
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000/year
Fully benefitted long term contract role (medical, vision, dental, PTO, paid holidays and 401K)

Summary:
As a R&D Lab Supervisor you will enhance our current products and develop new products that leverage the latest market trends and technologies. Every day, you’ll use your technical knowledge and background to create products and services that drive the growth of our customers and improve the lives of their consumers. Strong communication skills and a history of developing forward thinking, innovative approaches to formulation will help you collaborate with and lead the rest of the team.

Your role and responsibilities:
 

  • Create formulas

  • Check formulas against briefs for compliance

  • Make lab batches for samples

  • Fill and label samples

  • Update lab books with formula, specifications and applicable notes and observations

  • Create certificates of analysis

  • Create ingredient lists

  • Verify and double sign lab books daily

  • Assign projects to chemists

  • Communication to internal partners

  • Provide project updates in the system

  • Manage lab schedule

  • Daily stand up calls

  • Maintain scorecard

  • Maintain lab schedule

What you have:
 

  • 1-3 years of experience working in personal care product formulation

  • Impressive interpersonal and communication skills in small and large groups

  • An interest in the role that new technology can play in product development

  • The ability to make tough decisions quickly, and to take ownership over the outcome

  • A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or closely related field

  • Undergraduate level study in mathematics, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry
