Summary: This role focuses on working with OEM parts and merchandising display projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SolidWorks PDM, evaluating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and providing innovative, cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This position also serves as a consultant, offering recommendations to optimize manufacturability and improve overall project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for OEM parts and merchandising displays.

  • Utilize SolidWorks PDM extensively for project design and documentation.

  • Evaluate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and efficiency in project execution.

  • Act as a consultant to internal and external stakeholders, providing solutions to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to create detailed welding notes, instructions, and other essential requirements.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate project or part feasibility and make informed recommendations.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project completion and alignment with company goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks PDM and related design software.

  • Strong understanding of BOM management and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with welding techniques, including creating and interpreting welding instructions.

  • Ability to analyze and provide cost-effective solutions for part and project designs.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on consulting and advising stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in OEM part design or merchandising display projects.

  • Familiarity with other CAD software and manufacturing systems.

  • Proven track record of reducing costs and improving manufacturing efficiency through design.
