Location: Port Neches, Texas

Shift: Dupont Rotating Schedule

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team in Port Neches, Texas. The Lab Technician will perform testing, troubleshooting, and data entry related to the color, physical properties, and analytical properties of intermediate and finished products. This role is essential to maintaining product quality and supporting plant operations with non-routine testing and experiments. The position requires shiftwork, including nights and weekends, in an industrial/manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze final product materials and ensure they meet customer quality specifications.

  • Conduct raw materials testing and troubleshoot product quality deviations.

  • Water analysis, wet testing and chemistry in general

  • Provide technical support to plant personnel, sales teams, and customers as needed.

  • Maintain and refine lab procedures for accuracy and reliability in testing and analysis.

  • Ensure calibration and accuracy of lab equipment.

  • Assist in developing and improving process methods for maintaining product quality.

  • Analyze plant water systems and complete required tests on time.

  • Create Certificates of Analysis reflecting analytical quality of products.

  • Monitor and maintain lab equipment and supplies.

  • Adhere to and promote safety, health, and environmental (SHE) compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with at least two years of laboratory or related experience.

  • Some college coursework in a related field is preferred.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, analytical, and color testing methods.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and apply logical troubleshooting methods.

  • Collaboration skills to work effectively across teams and departments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and moderate-paced work.

  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, and repetitive motion.

  • Infrequent sitting, stair climbing, and working in noisy or dusty environments.

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including FR clothing, steel-toed shoes, and a hard hat.

Environmental Factors:

  • Industrial setting with exposure to moving machinery, dust, fumes, and allergens.
