Clinical Laboratory Manager (CLS)
Northridge, CA | Direct Hire | $135,000/yr

Kelly is hiring a CLS Manager that will be responsible for overseeing the productivity and operations of the Clinical Laboratory in manufacturing blood-based products. They ensure clinical regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, etc.) in collaboration with senior medical leadership. This position is standard working hours with the exception of occasional weekends. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor lab technicians for SOP and GMP compliance.

  • Develop staff training programs and report proficiency tests.

  • Maintain professional interactions and image.

  • Complete GMP collection documents, and review test results.

  • Lead projects to improve efficiency and evaluate lab equipment needs.

  • Troubleshoot lab issues and document corrective actions.

  • Prepare materials for audits and inspections (AABB, FDA, State).

  • Support budget development and maintain lab inventory.

  • Perform leukopak processing and blood product testing.

  • Maintain and validate lab equipment.

  • Comply with SOPs, cGMPs, and safety rules.

  • Use blood product information systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of  CLS/MLTs.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Life Science; MS preferred.

  • 5+ years laboratory experience with cGMP or GLP preferred.

  • 2+ years managerial experience.

  • CA state CLS licensure required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to learn new software quickly.

  • Experience with medical and scientific lab equipment.

Additional Skills

  • Strong time management and compliance with quality standards.

  • Able to handle confidential matters discreetly.

  • Clear communication and quantitative data analysis.

  • Effective prioritization and issue resolution.

Work Environment

  • Work performed in various environments including shipping, laboratory, and office settings with potential exposure to chemicals and infectious materials.

  • Frequent lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Usage of PPE as required.
