Now Hiring: Material Handlers at UC San Diego

The University of California, San Diego, is seeking Material Handlers to support operations at a lab facility. This position offers a pay rate of $21/hour.

Key Details:

  • Location: UC San Diego

  • Pay: $21/hour

  • Work Environment: Primarily outdoors

Job Responsibilities:
The selected candidates will perform general maintenance and organizational tasks, including:

  • Sweeping walkways.

  • Minor weed removal near buildings.

  • Organizing shipping containers with animal caging equipment.

  • Cleaning and organizing the interiors of buildings.

  • Assisting with loading scrap bins used for disposal of old equipment.

  • Performing outdoor clean-up around building exteriors.

Important Notes:

  • This position does not involve animal care or direct interaction with animals.

  • The role is located near a lab where animal testing takes place, but all tasks are focused on maintenance and facility upkeep.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work outdoors and perform manual tasks.

  • Basic organizational skills.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
