Location: Rochester, NY
At Kelly® Professional & Industrial, we’re seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our growing team in Rochester, NY. This is a fantastic Temp-to-Hire opportunity for someone with experience in payroll processing who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Pay: $22.00 – $23.00/hr (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible hours, OT as needed)
Type: Temp-to-Hire, Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Time Management:
- Process weekly payroll and ensure accurate time and attendance records.
- Assist external agencies with reconciling time data to invoices.
- Provide support to supervisors and staff regarding time and attendance issues.
Administrative Support:
- Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, preparing spreadsheets, and managing mail.
- Greet visitors and operate the telephone switchboard.
Collaboration & Team Support:
- Provide assistance to the HR Manager and other team members as needed.
- Work closely with employees across departments to resolve payroll and time tracking concerns.
- Assist in payroll compliance, particularly with knowledge of payroll laws in manufacturing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education a plus.
- 6 months of payroll or office experience preferred; manufacturing background is a plus.
- Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is required.
- Knowledge of payroll laws, particularly in manufacturing, is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and other office software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Work Requirements:
- Flexible with work hours; able to start at 8:00 AM, and willing to stay late or come in early if needed, especially around payroll deadlines.
- Ability to handle overtime as needed, particularly when payroll issues arise or additional support is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in an office and plant setting.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and move around the office and plant as needed.
